This is Trudy Horne's
"Princess Line Dress" made
in a tiny red houndstooth
by Dan River Textiles.
The fabric has enough body
to hold the shape of the
dress well.

 
     

  The collar and tab are made in Swiss batiste.  Jan made
her own trim by folding a narrow hem at the edge,
then satin stitching over the edge with Sulky thread.
