The Yellow Linen Coat Dress was constructed
by Mary Schmink.

 

Mary's version of
Chery Williams' "Coat Dress"
pattern provides a more
tailored look for the
older girl. We've drawn a
tailored sleeve and added
folded tucks at the
hemline. (Sleeve pattern
is available in the Jan/Feb '06
issue of Creative Needle.)

The fabric is Antwerp linen
from Kaufman Fabrics
in maize.

 
     

We reduced the size of the collar 1 inch at the front and back
hem and on the shoulder to accomodate the wide lace.

The wonderful guipure lace from Bear Threads
really "makes" the dress.  The swirled pearl buttons
are from Beautiful Buttons.
